SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
-
Make sure the roaster is turned off before starting any maintenance work.
-
The power cord must be unplugged or the roaster fully isolated from the electrical supply before removing any panels.
-
Read the instructions in full before starting work, and follow the steps as instructed below
Tools required
- Flat-head screwdriver, coin, or similar to open front door
- 2.5 mm hex key
- 3 mm hex key
- Small Phillips screwdriver
Instructions
Open the front door and remove the right-hand side panel
See instructions here.
Loosen the main motor driver
In machines numbered R04-29 and later, the motor driver is attached to the frame via a bolt in the lower front panel. Remove the bolt with a hex key. Pull the driver gently upwards to free it from the bottom bracket, then set it carefully to one side.
In earlier models, the motor driver is attached to the frame with adhesive tape. Pull the driver firmly to the right to loosen it, and then set it carefully to one side.

If you are temporarily uninstalling the driver in order to access other parts, then you do not need to disconnect the driver and can skip the remaining steps.
Remove driver cover
The driver has a steel cover, attached to the driver with two small screws. Use a small Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws and then remove the cover.
Disconnect driver cables
To replace the driver, gently pull out the cables from the driver. Pull on the connectors, not on the wires themselves.
Connect new driver
There are some small switches, known as DIP switches, on the body of the main motor driver. These should be set correctly from the factory, but it is a good idea to check the switch positions on the new driver before installation. The correct position of the switches is shown below.

Reconnect the driver cables by pushing the connectors firmly into place.
Install the driver cover onto the new driver.
Finish up
Reposition the driver and use the bolt to secure to the lower front panel.
Alternatively, if the driver was secured with adhesive, attach a strip of double-sided mounting tape to the left-hand edge of the driver, and then press it into place until secured.
Replace the side panel and close the front door.
