SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
-
Make sure the roaster is turned off before starting any maintenance work.
-
The power cord must be unplugged or the roaster fully isolated from the electrical supply before removing any panels.
-
Read the instructions in full before starting work, and follow the steps as instructed below
Tools required
- 2.5 mm hex key
Optional — see 'Disconnect power cable', below:
- Small screwdriver or other pointed tool
- 8 mm spanner
Remove bean cooler fan
Remove the rear panel
See instructions here.
Prepare bean cooler fan for removal
Disconnect the ducting from the bean cooler fan outlet.
Unscrew the Wi-Fi aerial.
Disconnect the cooler fan control cable from the PCB at the point marked 'CoolFan0'. Release the control cable from the retaining clips.
Remove the fan
Use the 2.5 mm hex key to remove the bolts holding the bean cooler fan panel.
Pull the bean cooler fan unit out toward you and set aside.
Note: You do not need to remove the cooler fan gasket. If it comes loose, set it back into position.
Disconnect power cable
If you are only removing the fan to access other parts, you may leave the power cable connected and just set the fan aside. If you are replacing the fan, or need to disassemble it for deep cleaning, then disconnect the power cable.
First make a note of how the cable is connected to the terminals (or take a photo), as the connection positions may vary.
Then disconnect the cables:
-
Live (brown) and neutral (blue): Push the orange button on the terminal block with a small screwdriver and pull the cable out.
- Earth (green and yellow): Use the 8 mm spanner to remove the 2 nuts, remove the bean cooler earth cable, then tighten the nuts back in place. Take care to leave all other earth connections in place.
Reinstall bean cooler fan
Reconnect power cable
Reconnect the earth cable to the earthing point. Secure it with the main nut and then the locking nut.
Reconnect the live and neutral cables to their original positions in the terminal blocks. Push the orange button, insert the cable, release the button, and tug gently to ensure it is secure.
Reinstall the fan
Ensure the cooler fan gasket is seated correctly.
Slide the bean cooler fan back into position and secure it with the bolts. Leave the power and control cables hanging loose.
Reconnect the control cable
Pass the cooler fan control cable behind the connections at the top of the PCB.
Attach the connector to the point marked ‘CoolFan0’. Secure the cable at the right-hand side with the retaining clips.
Tuck away any excess slack from the control and power cables on top of the cooler fan.
Finish up
Reinstall the back panel and reconnect the Wi-Fi aerial.
Once installation is complete, reconnect and switch on the roaster, and confirm the bean cooler fan is running correctly. An onscreen error message will alert you if the fan is not running.
